Colon (population 1,224) is known as the magic capital of the
world, hosting an annual magic festival in August. Thousands
turn out each year to see famous magicians perform, attend numerous
magic shows, a craft show, and visit food booths and village-wide
garage sales. Also, Colon is home to many points of interest
including the Farrand Hall/Chestnut Grove on the National and
State Historic Register and the Colon Seminary/Lamb Knit and
the Samuel Gorton House on the state register. The village
also boasts Abbott's Magic Company. Colon is located in
the northeastern part of the county, along M-86 with easy access
to I-69 and I-94.
